Help Us Plan the Next Generation of Mobility in Chamblee
The City of Chamblee is looking for your input as it explores the use of Shared Autonomous Vehicles (SAV), a cutting-edge approach to public transportation. SAVs are self-driving vehicles that transport 8-12 passengers, providing a viable alternative to driving to support the current and anticipated growth in Chamblee. The City has entered into a partnership with Stantec’s Urban Places studio to conduct analyses related to potential routes, fares, ridership and general feasibility of a circulator shuttle for the downtown area. This study also will analyze how a circulator shuttle can be converted into a SAV and will provide recommendations for the technology and associated costs needed to implement the conversion. Chamblee is embarking on this study with other select communities in the United States that have demonstrated a commitment to these innovative mobility strategies, and its findings will be collected to inform the use of this technology moving forward.
At September’s Mid-City Stroll event, Stantec introduced the SAV concept to attendees and gathered valuable information from the community. This survey is an opportunity to continue that conversation. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts on SAVs in Chamblee. The final report will be presented to Mayor and City Council in February, so stay plugged in to learn more about the innovative solutions your Chamblee leaders are seeking to be at the forefront of mobility policy.
